Her vehicle was found abandoned with her belongings and her deceased dog inside, raising concerns for her safety. As the investigation proceeds, the community is urged to remain vigilant.
A Silver Alert has been issued for Rebekah Anne Talbot, a 67-year-old woman from Arizona who was reported missing after last being seen on July 6. Her family is now working closely with local authorities in hopes of finding her.
Authorities discovered Talbot’s vehicle on July 14 in Springerville, Arizona, parked with her belongings and the deceased body of her dog inside. According to Round Valley Police, Lt. Shane Bevington described the ongoing investigation, stating that searches have been conducted within the Apache County area, but Talbot has not yet been located.
Erica Morgan, Talbot’s great niece, provided insight into her aunt’s character and lifestyle. Talbot has lived in Arizona for approximately 10 years, but has frequently traveled to Asheville, North Carolina, where she spent most of Morgan’s childhood. She was reportedly planning trips to see her son, who resides three hours away, and to Asheville after the July 4 holiday. However, Morgan has expressed deep concern regarding Talbot’s sudden disappearance, especially given her history of health issues that have impacted her communication and ability to travel in recent times.
The situation surrounding Talbot’s disappearance has raised alarms for family members. According to Morgan, it is out of character for Talbot to leave her belongings and dog behind, as she had a strong affection for her pet. The condition in which the car was found, totalled, has only compounded the family’s worries about her safety and well-being.
The police have provided a detailed description of Talbot to aid in the search. She is a white female, standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 130 pounds, with distinctive white hair and green eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a floral blouse in shades of white, blue, and black, along with a black jacket and black jeans.
The emotional burden is heavy on Talbot’s family and friends, particularly given that her mental health has declined over the last year. Many close to her are rallying together, urging anyone with information on her whereabouts to step forward. They have called on the public to contact the Round Valley Police Department at 928-333-4240 or the Apache County Sheriff’s Office at 928-337-4321 with any tips that might assist in locating Talbot.
Family members remain hopeful that despite the circumstances, information leading to Talbot’s safe return can arise through community support and vigilance. As searches continue, the family’s pleas for help reflect the urgency of the situation as they seek answers and clarity about her condition and whereabouts.
