Evadora had recently graduated from Glen Marlow Elementary School and was preparing to start sixth grade at Rugby Middle School. Her passing has not only devastated her family but has deeply affected the local community, as many knew her through her involvement in various activities, including dance at Center Stage Studio in South Asheville.

Following the accident, Sydney Alvaro was taken to a children’s hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where she is receiving care for her injuries. Meanwhile, other occupants of the Jones family vehicle sustained multiple injuries but are currently on the mend.

In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe page organized by family friend Ann Cradduck has raised over $67,000 to assist the Jones family during this difficult time. Additionally, a separate fundraising page has been established to help with medical expenses for Sydney Alvaro’s family.

To honor Evadora’s memory, residents of the Jones family’s neighborhood have come together to hold a vigil, where pink and purple bows were placed on their homes as a symbol of love and support.
