Intersection with road closure signs and construction barriers.

News Summary

West Main Street in Freehold Borough is closed at its intersection with Asheville Highway for essential sewer rehabilitation work, expected to last until Wednesday. Drivers are advised to follow detour signs for safety. Additional roadwork will occur at Throckmorton Street soon after, affecting local traffic. Similar disruptions are anticipated in Zanesville, OH and Dothan, AL for utility work. Residents should plan routes ahead and remain attentive to road changes during this period.

Freehold Borough, NJ – West Main Street has been closed at its intersection with Asheville Highway since Monday for essential sewer rehabilitation work. This closure is expected to last through Tuesday, with plans to reopen to normal traffic on Wednesday.

During this closure, traffic on West Main Street is being detoured around the intersection to ensure safety and maintain traffic flow. However, traffic on Asheville Highway and the State Route 70 Bypass will continue to function normally, as Asheville Highway remains open. Drivers navigating through the area are urged to adhere to posted road closure notices, detour signs, and instructions from police traffic directors.

Additional road work is set to begin on Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the intersection of Throckmorton Street and West Main Street in Freehold Borough. This work will also necessitate the closure of West Main Street to vehicular traffic from Throckmorton Street to Court Street. The construction team anticipates completing this road work on the same day as the closure, minimizing disruption to local drivers.

Beyond Freehold Borough, similar utility-related road work is scheduled in other locations. In Zanesville, OH, traffic on West Main Street will face a lane closure on Thursday between Osage Street and Augusta Street. This closure is necessary for a water line tap project, and temporary traffic signals will be implemented to facilitate traffic flow during the work.

Meanwhile, Dothan, AL will see West Main Street closed on January 1 and 2 for utility work. The closure will extend from the intersection of Alice Street to Oates Street during the late-night hours of 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. During this period, southbound lane shifts on Oates Street will be managed using flashing arrow boards and cones. Local drivers will be detoured accordingly, with eastbound traffic on West Main Street redirected to Alice Street and westbound traffic to Oates Street. Commercial trucks are strongly advised to use Ross Clark Circle to mitigate congestion during the construction.

As roadwork in various locations may cause potential delays, commuters in affected areas should plan their routes in advance and stay informed about ongoing changes. Local authorities emphasize the importance of following detour signs and staying aware of surrounding traffic conditions to ensure a smooth travel experience during these construction periods.

In summary, with ongoing utility work impacting West Main Street in multiple cities, residents and travelers are encouraged to remain vigilant concerning road signs and changes to traffic patterns. Features such as detours, lane closures, and implemented traffic signals aim to ensure safety and efficiency as necessary improvements take place.
