ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Asheville’s long-running home tour returns for a 45th year, with free walk-throughs of new builds, renovations and featured neighborhoods set for this weekend and the following Saturday-Sunday pair.
Roughly two dozen houses sit on the route, plus four spotlight communities. West Asheville’s Terra Futura regenerative neighborhood is among them, mixing compact energy-efficient cottages with shared greens and wellness spaces that prioritize privacy alongside neighbor connections.
The Blue Ridge Mountains builders group runs the showcase from Asheville through Hendersonville and out to Brevard, Black Mountain, Fairview, Marshall and nearby towns. Organizers say guests come to study finishes, talk with builders and compare layouts before picking a contractor for their own project.
Online walk-throughs are due next week and will stay posted all year, while the live weekends stay free. A printed magazine maps routes and builder contacts for people planning a full day of stops around Asheville this fall.
Megan Carroll of the builders group said the weekends let neighbors peek at design trends and help newcomers decide which firms and details fit a future project. Site tools let visitors star favorites and plot a driving order before they leave home.
Anyone planning an Asheville weekend can check the parade site for addresses, hours and community highlights before the first Saturday gates open on Oct. 17, with a second tour window Oct. 24-25 for latecomers still hunting ideas.
